1.
I hold all that you do as everything that’s right I find it hard to prove when Loving you is a crime I wait up late for you but you let me down this time It was clearly tuned you were ignored by the blind All the lies that you told I know they’re in line You’re such a vile fool and I know where you hide It won’t be long until you’ve stolen all our pride We will come at you with everything inside Are you ready? Will you wake up or just throw your world away
2.
You showed up early in the morning The look upon my face I never dreamed we’d be together In the same familiar place All this seems a little bitter The parts are unattached Now you’ve run out of excuses And our hope is fading fast I’ve made mistakes It’s an empty slate It’s your heart it takes It’s those little things that last We need to find a good example The storm provides such fate Reveal your dirty little secrets Right before it gets too late We need to bring it back together We both must face our past We should be giving up the demons Or our little faith will pass I’ve made mistakes It’s an empty slate It’s your heart it takes It’s those little things that last
3.
I watched you drown your color faded out it was such a lonely night You woke up with color in your eyes All I have is a good bye You’ve been waiting for this moment when the lights go alone You were thinking about tomorrow but you’ll never go Summarized the story of your life in my broken little words No more lines hoping you will find all your troubles left behind
4.
I saw you in the papers, they’re lapping at your feet I just might make it on Friday, if I get in for free The kids were being lazy, sleeping on their feet Could you play that big hit single cause that is all they’ll need Could it be the night Cause I didn’t sleep a wink, ooh ooh yeah I didn’t sleep a wink Been away awhile, see the kids have changed Could you play Mr. Alex Chilton now everyone’s on stage The kids are going crazy, bouncing through the breaks You might think that this is heaven but I just need a drink Could it be the night Cause I didn’t sleep a wink, ooh ooh yeah I didn’t sleep a wink Could it be the night Cause I didn’t sleep a wink, ooh ooh yeah I didn’t sleep a wink
5.
Long years of wait, she’s devastated You weaved your lies So much they gave, you suffocated Stealing our pride It’s the same story every time It remains, broken in your mind The world won’t wait, for coming of age it blacks your soul The wound so gaped, the suffering aid won’t clean what’s known It’s the same story every time Remains, broken in your mind You stare, no writing in your eyes, frustrated We break, blurring all the lines, humiliated It’s the same story every time Remains, broken in your mind You stare, no writing in your eyes, frustrated We break, blurring all the lines, humiliated We wait, constantly denies, so unshaped Debates, colliding through the night, with no shame

Light Up 02:56
With a smile you brought me to my honeymoon There was nothing we couldn’t do, eternally as one Now the miles came and are we tired of the same Morning Noon and evening blame, words can mean so much Will you fight me, every time the night cedes Let me count the reasons you just won’t light up You and I glow, only when the Moon’s in tow Harmony is hard to show, with so much to pull Now I know, that your mind just won’t let go Leaves your heart just like a stone, that’s too much to hold Will you fight me, every time the night cedes Let me count the reasons you just won’t light up You won’t light up 3x Will you fight me, every time the night cedes Let me count the reasons you just won’t light up
7.
Friends 03:16
Friends, remember what we use to know And ooh my friends, I’ve struggled just to let it go I’m scared of all the things we used to do It’s not fair I wanna run around with you When I wake up the morning now I’m not feeling like you anyhow Friends, I’m not the one I used to be And ooh my friends, I hope you’re liking what you see I’m scared my heart is beating on my sleeve It’s not fair you had to see this part of me When I wake up the morning now I’m not feeling like you anyhow
8.
And the days get over stressed with demons in your head Remember all the little things I said and tucked you in The pain gets much easier and heals your heart with time I’ll always be that little star right by your side As the night goes on the broken heart has just begun Tonight I’m crawling after you Dream with your passion first just like I always lived Lead with your heart in front and model all I give I’ll be a piece of you Forever in your mind I’ll always be that little star right by your side As the night goes on the broken heart has just begun As the night goes on the feelings seem to come undone Tonight I’m crying out Tonight I’m kneeling down Tonight I’m crawling after you Solo As the night goes on the broken heart has just begun As the night goes on the feelings seem to come undone As the night goes on the broken heart has just begun Tonight I’m crying out Tonight I’m kneeling down Tonight I’m crawling after you
9.
Maybe when I get to know you, we can change the things you’ve done Now it’s all there before you, will you take the bait and run Caught in the middle It’s the chance you take Is it me that shows through or were you wearing way to thin Do you notice things that you do or were you waiting for the end Caught in the middle It’s the chance you take, yeah Caught in the middle It’s the chance you take
10.
So Weird 03:11
Know what you wanted yesterday but it’s too late he’s gone away Why you gotta be so cool when I buy your drink and you turn your stool I might not suit you now but tomorrow night you’ll show me how With the Sun I’m walking home and you save face and I’m alone All along I never thought you could be so weird All along I never dreamed you could be so weird Be so weird You look at me with a smile so thin I turn my back you just cringe You’re second rate and it just won’t fly and it’s time you had your own little bite After a few or more, you never know might want to score So tired of walking home, you lose face and we’ll leave it so All along I never thought you could be so weird All along I never dreamed you could be so weird Be so weird
11.
You’re in a hurry, simmer down and give it time No need to worry, you’ll figure it out and be just fine So sad and lonely, another tear and it will pass Can’t blow this moment, ‘cause this chance could be my last Tucking away tomorrow it ain’t so hard to find Blink before you know it and you’re growing up Right Before My Eyes When you were younger I’d fix it up and it would pass Now you’re older and I can’t fix it up so fast I hope you’re ready to have the world right in your lap So make your story, don’t follow any other map Tucking away tomorrow it ain’t so hard to find Blink before you know it and you’re growing up Right Before My Eyes

about

Rich Yarges and The Pop Mechanics Minneapolis, Minnesota

Rich Yarges & The Pop Mechanics hail from Minneapolis. Yarges fronted infamous mid-90s KS band Truck Stop Love, which he’d taken from the garage to MTV to ABC and back. His bond with TSL guitarist Jim Crego led him on the long road back to playing, singing, and writing again.
Yarges writes pure genuine, honest-to-God Rock N’ Roll! You can hear it when his voice breaks and feel it in his lyrics.
